Keynote Ben Ramalingam: Why linear problem solving is no longer the solution for multifaceted problems

While it is widely recognized that the aid system is in need of drastic changes, opinion on what needs to change continue to vary. Ben Ramalingam’s book ‘Aid on the edge of chaos’ addresses this issue in a thought-provoking manner. In his key note, he explains that linear approaches, mechanistic models and assumptions are insufficient in today’s world which is dynamic and complex. He instead argues for a radically new approach that embraces a ‘new science’ of complex adaptive systems.
